At Bas Rouge Farm & Forge, we propagate by seed, division, cuttings of plants grown in our nursery and our farm. We also purchase plugs from a reputable grower. Our plants are never wild collected. It may also interest you to know that our farm grows native plants, shrubs, trees and seeds that are free of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and neonicotinoids using organic methods. In short, our plants are pollinator safe & friendly!!
Plant Information is specific to the native specimens we grow here in our nursery. Some of the information is researched or compiled from reliable sources including the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Native Plant Trust Go Botany, and our own thorough observations when propagating, growing and harvesting in our Zone 5a garden.

One of the Milkweeds and the most understatedly showiest of our native plants. Traditionally used as a medicinal by indigenous people. Deer resistant.
